3 Days TOUBKAL ASCENT TREKKING TRIP HIGHLIGHTS:
Tour Plan
Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil – Lepiney Mountain RefugeOur 3 days circular trek to and from Toubkal Mount will start with a fairly early (around 9h) pick up from your hotel or place of staying in Marrakech. You will be dropped off at Imlil, where you will meet your guide. After you load all your belongings on the back of mules, you will be ready for a long uphill hike, leaving Imlil valley far behind and heading to Tizi n Mzik pass. The latter offers a panoramic view of the mountains surrounding the area. Keep walking down hill until reaching Azzaden valley. On our way to the mountain refuge where we will be spending the night, we will pass by the marvelous Azib m’Tansoult and D’Irhoulden waterfalls. Then we continue to our final destination for the day, Lepiney Mountain refuge.
Day 2: Lepiney Mountain Refuge – Augelzim Pass – Toubkal RefugeOur destination for today will be Toubkal refuge, which is located at the foothill of the Toubkal Mount. We will retrace our way back to Azzaden valley, which means stiff climb is awaiting for us. We will again pass by the gorgeous D’Irhoulden waterfalls and then continue climbing the Aguelzim Mounatin pass, then at one point we descent to the Toubkal mountain refuge, where we will be spending the night. Please keep in mind that the accommodation there is very basic, however, it has the important things you may need. During summer time and if Mount Toubkal weather permits, we usually opt for a camp at the refuge. Get a good night sleep, rest well and get ready for the big day tomorrow.
Day 3: Toubkal Refuge – Toubkal Summit – Imlil – MarrakechToday is the day! You will face the eminent summit of the highest mountain in North Africa- Toubkal Mount. We will take advantage of an early morning start to climb the mountain, we would like to prevent the heated sun rays for as long possible. As you might have predicted before, the routes up to the mountain are a bite challenging depending on the season. Not all the routes to the summit are safe -some are quite tricky- but don’t you worry, our guides are experienced and have accumulated over the years good knowledge of the area to prevent risky routes and take you through safe ones. When you get to the summit, you will feel yourself over the moon, as you watch the most fabulous and magnificent views of the Atlas Mountain range and the Berber villages. The view from the summit will make any difficulties you faced on your way to the top worth it! We will spend some time ruminating upon the breathtaking views of the peak, and then retracing our way back to Imlil, and from there, you will meet your driver who will take you back to your location in Marrakech.
