If you have always been in love with mountains, and want to experience this love on another level, then our 4 day Mount Toubkal trek is what you are looking for. There is nothing more serene as climbing a mountain decorated with a fresh sheet of snow. Climbing Mount Toubkal is exactly a walk in the park but it is not a high profiled mountain climb, which requires only professionals. It is something in between, meaning that you should only be reasonably fit and have enough determination that will make your hike to the summit possible. If you chose to climb Mount Toubkal in winter, you will need special mountaineering tools, such as walking pols, ice axes and crampons which you can rent from us. 4 Days Toubkal Trekking trip highlights
Itinerary Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil (1740m) – Toubkal Refuge (3200m) Leave the chaotic streets of Marrakech and head to the mountain village Imlil in a 90 min drive. Our driver will pick you up in an air conditioned vehicle from your accommodation in Marrakech. You will meet your guide in Imlil village where your adventure will begin. We will follow the path uphill crossing the stunning Mizane Valley, heading to the shrine of Sidi Chamharouch. The latter is a convenient halfway point to rest and, get watered and fed. The final hours of the hike will take us to the Toubkal refuge, where we will spend the night. The refuge is pretty basic and but covers all your necessities. It has a lounge area with a fireplace and a heater to get you warmed up. Added to this, there are toilets and hot showers. Overall the refuge is clean and well kept, and provides an excellent place to rest and meet other hikers. Day 2: Toubkal refuge (3200m) – the peaks of Ouanakrim (4089m) – Toubkal refuge (3200m) Today, we will target the Ouanoukrim twins, the 2nd and 3rd highest peaks in the High Atlas. They both stand at the head of Mizan Valley. The trek to the twins will not only be culminated with a stunning view of Mount Toubkal, but it will also test your legs and prepare your body for the big hike. We head back to the refuge for lunch, where you can spend the day resting your muscles and absorbing the beautiful surroundings. Total walking time approximately 7hours. Day 3: Toubkal refuge (3200m) – Mount Toubkal peak (4167m) – Toubkal refuge (3200m) Today is the day! We wake up early and start the climb to the summit of Mount Toubkal. The path rises steeply as we continue our hike steadily. Our professional guides will help you navigate safer routes to the summit. You will begin feeling footsore and exhausted, but the view from the summit are magical and definitely worth the pain you are feeling. Peaks and snowbound valleys will make themselves visible to you, as you stretch your eyes North and South contemplating the Atlas Mountain Range and whole of Morocco! We will retrace our way back to the refuge. Time for the ascent is around 4 hours; total walking time 8 hours. Day 4: Toubkal refuge (3200m) – Imlil (1740m) – Marrakech The last day, you will have breakfast, and walk back down via the same route to Imlil village, where you will have lunch at a guesthouse before transfer back to Marrakech. Today's walk will take around 4 to 5h, followed by a 1h30 drive to your accommodation in Marrakech. |

We can cater to that. How to book and pay? We accept payments in Moroccan dihram, euros, dollars, or British pounds. Payment in cash, or by bank transfer. If you wish to pay in another currency, get in touch! Together we will figure it out. Cultural considerations Rural Moroccans still live a traditional way of life. So it is advised to dress a little more conservative than you are used to. For women, this means that shoulder, chest and knees are covered, and for men, shoulders and knees. It will also protect you from the hot sun, and help you to stay cooler. Luggage Your luggage for the trip will be carried my mules, to help take the weight off your shoulders. If you have some additional luggage you wish to keep in Imlil, we can arrange a secure place for you to store these items. Looking for a different experience?
